Hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases are affecting a large population nowadays. Too much stress, lack of exercise, unhealthy diet all makes our bodies a store house of illnesses and problems. Nowadays young people are also suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes at a very early age. Nifedipine
is the generic drug that is used to treat hypertension and other cardiovascular issues such as chest pain [angina]. This medicine belongs to dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker which works by blocking the calcium voltage gates in cardiac muscles and blood vessels. The overall effect results in decreased level of calcium which reduces muscular contraction. As the calcium level drops the heart’s ability to contract slows down effectively resulting in increase of arterial diameter. This expansion of the arteries can also be said as vasodilation due to which there is a drop in the blood pressure. Also there is an increased supply of oxygenated blood to the heart.Adalat

If a patient experiences severe adverse reaction such as rash, swelling of the face, hands, feet, fainting, chest pain, a doctor must be contacted immediately so as to rule out the cause for this condition. Sometimes the doctor may prescribe alternative medicine or change the dose if they feel the resulting condition is due to a high dosage of Adalat.
